September 2026 Astrology

Your horoscopes for September are here.

August was eclipse month which was spectacular and crazy in equal measure. Here in the UK, I enjoyed a Solar Eclipse party with my family in Cornwall.

My big sister had a big birthday to celebrate on the day of the eclipse and we alternated watching the sun (through eclipse glasses) and taking part in a hilarious talent contest. Good times.

Hopefully, you haven’t experienced too much change or disruption during eclipse season. Wild-card Uranus is still active this month. Otherwise, there’s a calmer feel to September.

Here’s what’s coming up this month:

Venus enters Scorpio

September 10

The planet of love and money, art and beauty Venus dives deep into water sign Scorpio this month on September 10.

More importantly, this is leading up to Venus’ next retrograde phase which will take place from October 3 to November 14.

Venus turns retrograde in sexy Scorpio and direct in loving Libra. It could be an intriguing time for relationships. This mirrors the same Venus cycle which fell 8 years ago from September-November 2018.

Traditionally, Venus retrograde is not the time to marry, have expensive beauty treatments, cosmetic surgery or make major purchases or investments.

Wherever Scorpio falls in your horoscope, Venus will remain here for an unusually long time until the start of next year, 2027.

Uranus turns Retrograde

September 10

Wild-card Uranus turns retrograde in air sign Gemini on September 10. When Uranus is active, sometimes life steps in to spring a surprise or lead you in a new direction. This may follow on from events at last month’s eclipse on August 28.

Uranus represents freedom, rebellion, new advancements, change and the unexpected and it’s hard to stay put doing the same thing when Uranus is active. Technology glitches, electricity, lightning and anxiety can all be triggered when Uranus dominates.

Neptune Aries sextile Pluto Aquarius

September 16

Between July 15 to July 25, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius were creating a Minor Grand Trine aspect and, with Jupiter in Leo, formed the Big Pattern.

The three planets are still in their Minor Grand Trine aspect which will last for some time. Plus, on September 16, Neptune and Pluto make an exact sextile aspect once again.

Plus, there are other periods throughout the month when the Big Pattern is being re-awakened by the faster-moving planets. Key dates are September 12/14 and September 26/28.

Whatever began in your life close to July 19/20/21 may still be reverberating and leading you in a new direction. Perhaps, you’re on a completely different path to the one you were on two months ago.

Neptune is the planet of dreams and the imagination while Pluto’s themes are power, the psyche and inner transformation.

EQUINOX – Sun enters Libra

September 23

The Sun remains in earth sign until September 23. Virgo is the last of the personal star signs before moving out into the world.

Once the Sun enters Libra, relationships become important – negotiations, contracts and partnership. Relationships require compromise, an active way to engage with the realignment of the Libra scales. This is needed in all areas of life, the personal and the collective.

The Sun’s move into Libra on September 23 (September 22 in some parts of the world) coincides with the Equinox and brings a change of season.

Equinox means ‘equal night’ (equal day) as the axis of the earth tilts, heralding the start of autumn in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern hemisphere.

Traditionally, Libra is the star sign of peace, balance and harmony. Ensure you focus on the harmonious side of Libra season and aim for balance in your life.

As the Equinox comes after a month of eclipses and before a month of double retrogrades – both communication planet Mercury and the planet of love Venus switch direction in October – even more important to do what’s required to stay steady and calm this month.

Moon’s Phases

New Moon Virgo

September 11

A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings. Traditionally, a New Moon is the time to launch a project, begin something new and start over.

This is the beginning of the waxing phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to set your intentions for the month ahead. Make a wish when you first catch sight of the crescent Moon, a couple of days after the New Moon date.

This month’s New Moon falls in earth sign Virgo on September 11, a nod towards getting organised and starting new rituals or healthy habits that benefit you.

Be disciplined and dig deep to do what’s right for you and what’s best for the planet and the earth. During the New Moon, both lunations are in a positive aspect to Mars in Cancer which feels productive and kind.

Full Moon Aries

September 26

During the Full Moon, the light of the moon is at its peak, shining a light on your situation. Traditionally, a Full Moon is the time to trust your intuition, make important decisions and bring matters to completion or culmination.

This is the start of the waning phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to release and let go of what’s no longer needed in your life. During the Full Moon on September 26, the Sun is in Libra and the Moon is in Aries.

This recreates July’s Big Pattern on July 20/21 as the Sun and Moon align with the three modern planets, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius.

Neptune is the pivot planet and a Moon/Neptune conjunction feels dreamy and seductive. Pay close attention to your dreams during the Full Moon phase.
