Ibex
Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign of the zodiac, so films for this sign should feature ambitious goals, powerful leaders, overcoming great adversities and conquests. This sign loves a really action-packed and dynamic story. Saturn rules this sign, so movies about business, the law, government, wars, nation building, and “pulling yourself by your bootstraps” will appeal to a Capricorn viewer.
Comedy
Horrible Bosses (2011)
Quick summary from google.com: “Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) are employees who want nothing more than to grind their oppressive employers into the mud. Quitting their jobs isn’t an option, so the men – fueled by alcohol and questionable advice from a criminal (Jamie Foxx) – devise a complex and seemingly foolproof plan to get rid of their terrible bosses once and for all. The problem is that any plan is only as smart as the brain behind it.”
Why Capricorn will love it
Secretly, the Capricorn viewer might support the bosses. Comedy or drama, a Capricorn loves a good power dynamic in a story, and work is the perfect setting for much of the entertainment he will enjoy. If they are a boss, chances are they see something of themselves in each of the “terrible” bosses, and can laugh along with them, as they hatch a plot to ensure that the employees don’t succeed. .
Drama
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Quick summary from google.com: “In 1987, Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) takes an entry-level job at a Wall Street brokerage firm. In the early 1990s, while still in his twenties, Belfort founded his own company, Stratton Oakmont. Together with his trusted lieutenant (Jonah Hill) and a merry band of real estate agents, Belfort makes a huge fortune by defrauding wealthy investors out of millions. But as Belfort and his accomplices engage in a hedonistic brew of sex, drugs and excitement, the SEC and FBI close in on his empire of excesses.”
Why Capricorn will love it
One theme of Capricorns’ love in their stories is ‘rags to riches’. It doesn’t matter whether the path is paved with integrity or debauchery, as long as a rise from nothing leads to wealth and success. If there is a dramatic downfall, that works fine too. After all, Capricorn is both the sign of big business AND the tax collector. So whether the characters make it big or tear down the corruption, a Capricorn viewer will enjoy the show.
Action
Elisabeth (1998)
Quick synopsis from google.com: “Elizabeth Tudor (Cate Blanchett) becomes queen of a divided and dangerous England in 1558. She is roundly seen as weak due to threats from home and abroad, and her counselor William Cecil strongly advises her to marry (Richard Attenborough). But she will only marry her country. Intelligent and careful, she must choose where to place her trust: with her clever secretary Walsingham (Geoffrey Rush), a master of espionage, or with her secret lover, Sir Robert Dudley (Joseph Fiennes).
Why Capricorn will love it
Although she is a Virgo, Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1533, and her life story is largely that of a Capricorn. She was dedicated to one purpose above all others… ruling her country. She was just smarter and more dedicated than anyone around her, and she knew how to lead, and how to avoid losing her power, which is almost as unique a Capricorn trait as exercising of power. Her reign is still considered one of the greatest of all monarchs and periods in history.
Children
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
Short summary from google.com: “A sweet boy from a poor family dreams of finding one of five golden tickets hidden in chocolate bar wrappers that will grant him access to Willy Wonka’s eccentric and reclusive magic factory. One after another, cards are discovered by horrible children – but will the boy find the last remaining card and make all his dreams come true?
Why Capricorn will love it
The 1971 original, remade in 2005 with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, far surpasses this largely fine effort. Following the ‘rags to riches’ theme that Capricorns love, the film is a blend of the best of Capricorn and its shadow elements. Charlie is the central character, coming from a poor background, and emphasizes the values you learn from making your way through the world without a silver spoon in your mouth. All other characters, children and adults, represent the negative aspects of Capricorn. It’s a great movie for Capricorn parents who want to show their children the right values and positive outcomes that come from acting with integrity.
Science fiction
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Quick synopsis from google.com: “Several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the Iron City scrapyard by Ido, a compassionate cyber doctor who brings the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita wakes up, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to protect her from her. mysterious past.”
Why Capricorn will love it
Status is another theme that dominates Capricorn’s interests, especially since the sign is ruled by Saturn. This movie has all the elements of ‘rags vs riches’ (rather than ‘rags to riches’), the kind of tension a Capricorn will enjoy in his or her movie. Great special effects, futuristic technology, bounty hunting and a city for the privileged floating in the sky… what more could a Capricorn want?
Mystery
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Quick summary from Google.com: “In 1940s New York, hapless Stanton Carlisle endears himself to a clairvoyant and her mentalist husband at a traveling carnival. Using newly acquired knowledge, Carlisle manages to obtain a golden ticket to success by defrauding the elite and the wealthy. Hoping for a big win, he soon devises a plan to con a dangerous tycoon with the help of a mysterious psychologist who may be his most formidable opponent yet.
Why Capricorn will love it.
The theme remains the same even as the genre changes, but this rags to riches story is woven into a series of mysteries, setbacks and heartbreaking moments. The 1940s era provides a beautiful backdrop, showing the extreme dichotomy of poverty and wealth before the middle class began to develop after World War II and into the 1950s and 1960s. Making a living and breaking through are very Capricorn stories.
