Dear friends,
Early next week there is a New Moon in Virgo, and a New Moon Manifestation Circle Webinar on Monday, September 2.
This New Moon takes place on Labor Day here in the United States, which is very appropriate for Virgo – the sign of the worker and the harvest. On Monday, September 2 at 9:55 PM Eastern US time, the Sun and Moon will meet at 11 degrees and 4 minutes of Virgo.
This New Moon also ushers in Eclipse season. It is a moment of bittersweetness and awareness of the passage of time, with the Goddess of Love having recently entered tender-hearted Libra – one of her favorite signs – and yet approaching a conjunction with the South Node of liberation. This New Moon is all about releases!
In the chart for Washington, DC (which rules all of the US, as the country’s capital is located there) we find Taurus on the Ascendant, making Venus the ruler of the entire chart, as she rules Taurus. It’s a gentle reminder that everything on this planet comes and goes, that you can’t create space in your life for new goodness (relationships, creative projects, possessions) if you don’t let go of what you no longer need. Say goodbye with grace.
The map of Washington, DC also shows a Midheaven of 22.5 degrees Capricorn – the point where Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn met in early 2020. This suggests that Covid will be in the news again. A new booster is coming out soon, so keep an eye out for that!
Pluto, meanwhile, will have just returned to Capricorn, which he left for Aquarius in January this year. He will spend the next three months there – his last, final time in 224 years – wrapping up unfinished business from our Pluto-in-Cap journey, which began way back in January 2008, when we were all much younger and were more innocent. !
Take stock of where you are and what your goals are for the future, while appreciating how far you’ve come. What do you want to put in place before Pluto goes into Aquarius for good and for good over the next 19 years? It’s Eclipse season, remember? (And in fact, it’s our LAST Eclipse season, before the nodes change signs in January.)
Mars, the God of Action, is under some pressure in this New Moon chart. He is approaching a square to Neptune (which is on a World Point) and is at the tip of a Finger of God with Pluto in Cap and Pallas Athena in Scorpio as the two legs. There is a kind of sibling rivalry that can determine some of your choices. Clear your head and stick to your knitting. You are not her to take them up or down: you are here to chart your own path and reinforce your own vision, independently of each other. Claim it!
This is reinforced by the fact that Mercury in Leo is preparing to square both Uranus and Pallas. This is the ‘I am’ energy. Your strategy is different than what others might urge you to do. It’s really your choice.
It’s a juicy, physical, highly mutable New Moon and a great time to establish new daily routines that support our health and well-being. Also a great time to adopt a pet, if you’re thinking about that!

Big hugs,
Anne
