What makes the difference between the success of one and the failure of the other?
There are educated failures and uneducated successes. There are failures of affluent families with many social connections, and there are successes of ‘the wrong side of the track’.
There are extraordinarily talented people who somehow never manage to turn their talent into material success, and who fail no matter how much help they get. And there are those who finally achieve success and overcome obstacles and handicaps, even if they have failed before.
Then there are those who are successful in everything they do, and have never experienced failure. These people have such a magnitude of success, often in the most unlikely of circumstances, that we conclude that they must be supernaturally blessed in some way. We wonder what aspects appear in their astrological birth chart or what lucky rabbit’s foot they carry in their pocket.
Star quality
The difference between all these types of people is often summarized as the factor ‘ “luck” – yet no one really believes it is completely random. We can’t help but notice that “happy” people are often the ones who behave with natural poise and charisma; the people who attract opportunities from the clear blue sky are somehow usually those people who have a calm but radiant confidence in themselves and in what they do.
Such a person’s magnetism has a subtle but tangible effect on everyone around him or her; there is a kind of emotional electricity or magnetic field that seems to attract beneficial influences in the form of the right people, the right information, in the right place – all at the right time. When the opportunity presents itself – and it often does – these people spring into action and bring about success with apparent effortlessness, as if victory is already written in stone.
In reality, the advantage that these people have is it ability to envision the achievement of their goals. These people can look beyond their current circumstances to what they desire, and it is the power of their focus on their vision that makes those visions a reality. It is the power of this focus that gives the events of their lives this sense of “fateful”; with such people we constantly feel that what happens was “predetermined” – and that is in large part because she meant it that way!
The vision of these people is so powerful that it can encompass an entire company, an entire nation, and even an entire world. It is sometimes said that ‘man makes his own happiness’ – and that is true. What is less known is that he does this by creative visualization.
Seeing is believing
There are many hidden powers of the mind that most of us do not consciously use, despite the fact that doing so would put the universe to work for the realization of our wildest dreams.
We live in a universe of many dimensions, and it is from some of these other dimensions that we can attract the opportunities for success. Creative visualization is a method of opening channels from these other dimensions and bringing us the richness of the universe. It is the key that opens the door to wider worlds so that we can hand over to invisible hands the instructions for what we want and how we want it to feel, look, taste, smell and sound.
Occultists, sages, CEOs, media moguls and some of the world’s most successful businessmen agree on the tremendous power of this self-cultivation technique. Going all the way back to ancient times, we find the caveman drawing a picture of the animal he wanted to manifest during his meal, and the monk meditating on the sign that symbolizes the desired state of enlightenment. We can observe the advertising agent portraying someone who looks just like you consuming their product, and the propagandist creating emotionally charged material about the world they want to create.
These creative actions have been practiced for thousands of years by people in different countries, of different cultures and for very different purposes – and that’s because they work. They bring about the desired result by aligning every level of the individual – physical, emotional and mental – with a desire.
When there is no barrier to what we want, we pull it towards us as the magnet attracts iron. This is true regardless of whether we want an inner strength, an ability, a material object, a cure, a piece of information, or a partner. When you can see it with your inner eye, name it with your mind, and believe it with your heart, you will very soon feel it in your two physical hands.
Magical Techniques
Any method of creative visualization will have a part to play if it is to be effective
- the careful control of the rational mind,
- appealing to the emotions and instincts, and
- the help of the physical senses.
The mind should be fixed on a vivid inner picture of what is desired, which can be supplemented with a sense of choice. For example, you can inwardly imagine the house you want to live in, with vivid and specific details, saying, “My house, my house”.
When an individual’s mental and emotional levels are engaged, united and brought into one pointed focus on an image, an outpouring of energy is released on sub-etheric planes, creating changes in the magnetic field so that reality begins. to transform into the form of what one has imagined.
Ritualistic formalities are helpful in this work because they appeal to the deeper emotional and instinctive levels of an individual. Creating a sacred space or ritual for your creative visualization practice is helpful because by appealing to the emotional nature you will awaken more primitive, ancient abilities that understand and remember the laws of the universe better than you do. Even those who are not particularly “spiritual” are influenced by the drumming of shamanic music, the scent of incense, or the shadowy flickers of candlelight. Such formalities suggest to the unconscious mind that we are doing something special and important, and this simple act of subtle suggestion generates forces that cannot be put into action.
Keep your attention often on the physical manifestations of that which you desire. Notice the details, qualities, traits, and sensations you want to mimic in your own experience. Use the physical world as a stimulus to refine and clarify your desire; let it help you hold your powerful focus on the wish you want to bring into the world. Do this often enough, and soon it won’t just exist in your mind’s eye – it will be right in front of you!
