The Manor House Hotel, most haunted review
Yvette opens the episode with ghosts, poltergeist activity, and a cry for help from the owners. They have come to investigate The Manor House Hotel in County Durham. There has been a building on this site since the 16th century, it was a country house, an orphanage and now it is a hotel. There have been dark figures, children’s cries and objects with a life of their own. Richard Felix notes that because of the age and history of the building, it all adds up to a spooky atmosphere.
The ghost of a tall woman has been seen on the stairs looking for her lost child. The owner recalls a story that she spoke to the apparition believing it was one of the cleaning staff and when she received no response from the woman, she disappeared into thin air. Skeletons of children have also been found in the area at the back of the building.
In Room 7 there is the apparition of a large man standing in the corner, lamps have been thrown across the room. In room 8, dark shadows move through the room, a young boy woke up with his hands around his neck and was then thrown across the room. When he reached his parents, he was inconsolable and there were visible marks on his throat. In room 6, children want to play and at night there is the sound of crying.
Phil Wyman does his basic testing and also places trigger objects in some other rooms. Drafty windows have been checked, the boy who was attacked in room 8 takes some photos of the children who are in the building and want to play with him. Locked cameras have been set up in some of the other rooms and in room 6 a child’s toy has been set as a trigger object.
Derek Acorah joins them on the circular walk, where they start on the stairs. He indicates that he can feel the energy of people who are afraid and fear for their lives. There is a dark energy that knows no mercy. Derek says several hangings have taken place in the building, but there are no records to verify this.
We move on to bedroom 7. Derek picks up on an energy that visits this area regularly and comes in when people are sleeping. This would be something that would wake them up when they feel this. He also notices things that have been moved in the bedroom, the energy trying to harm those inside.
What’s in Bedroom 8 at The Manor House Hotel?
In bedroom 8 of The Manor House Hotel, Derek looks discouraged as he walks into the room and says there is something frightening in the room. He discussed the fact that there is a vortex in this room that spirits come through. Yvette then notices that Derek is crying and he says that this is a fear of a child of an annoying man.
Guest clairvoyant Ian Lawman visits the basement alone, he begins to hear strange noises and says he is getting short of breath. Some of the energies that are picked up are there is a man shouting, horses hooves are standing outside and getting emotional. He starts to feel very uncomfortable and gets scared when he notices a lot of crying children.
Derek is the next to visit the cellar, he immediately notices sadness and uneasiness in the area. While Derek is talking to Yvette, one of the cameramen startles everyone because he just felt someone hit the back of his head. Derek picks up the skeletons of children buried on the property. The next to panic is Yvette, she screams when she hears something making noise in her ear, I love it when she imitates the sounds she heard. She is very upset when she comes out of the basement; what ever made the sound shocked her.
Back in Room 6, Richard Felix looks at the locked cameras and sees some lights in the room. He contacts the crew to go to the room. As Derek talks about the energy he can feel in the room, a loud bang sounds outside. As they go outside, Derek says it’s an angry/annoying energy and Derek challenges him. While this is happening in the room, the cameramen see Phil’s clipboard being thrown to the floor.
When the crew in Room 8 begin challenging the ghost, Yvette calls out and asks for something to be done. As she does this, she calls the ghost a coward. This triggers something when Derek becomes possessed. He starts talking about the confrontation in a different tone and then throws a lamp at the crew members. He then collapses on the bed and the rest of the crew tries to revive him.
Stuart ventures to the basement alone and plans a séance. He starts shouting and gets nervous in the room. He says he feels like someone is with him, and then sharp pains begin in his ear and head. What he doesn’t realize is that Yvette also has problems with her ear and her head around the same time.
The last wake of the night for The Manor House Hotel is in Room 8 with Karl, Stuart and Rick, they begin to have a séance. While Rick shouts, he sees some lights flashing in the top corner of the room, unfortunately this was not captured on camera.
Stuart sees lights flashing as Karl provokes the ghosts. This is when they all jump out of their skin as there is a knocking sound followed by the TV turning on. This is too much for Stuart and Rick, and they say they won’t sleep in that room tonight, they end up sleeping in the van outside.
