Author Aiden Truss Reicagines Dracula’s Tale Due to the Vampier’s own gloomy gloomy diary in: The Lost Diaries of Dracula, Haunted Charlie Hall writes

D The Lost Diaries of Dracula

From a very young age, author Aiden Truss was attracted to the dark side of life and when receiving a memorable copy of Frankenstein as a Christmas gift, he acquired a hunger for horror and all things supernatural.

He could not wait for library visits after school, where he was eagerly looking for various additives of Pan Horror -Bloofl readings and ghost stories, and then later film rominalisations such as The Exorcist, Amityville Horror and the Omen.

If Aiden would be able to stay late to watch scary films on TV and especially remembered the Saturday night of Universal Horror Double Bills, where he first saw the black -white films he had read about.

In the days before videos were available, his only way was to see a classic horror, unless on TV, in illustrated books such as a pictorial history of horror films by Denis Gifford and the Hamlyn Book of Horror, written by Daniel Farson, the big cousin of Bram Stoker.

A glory reader who became fascinated by Gothic fiction and while studying for his BA, he started a course module about Gothic fiction that strengthened his love for the genre.

He added this to his passion for writing and an absurd sense of humor, he realized that he had a few creepy stories, so created his own, unique style of dark comedy.

In 2013 he published his much -praised horror -fantasia -Roman Gape, a horribly funny story about the events of a poor young woman who is exchanging place with a dissatisfied demon.

I couldn’t help it, but to inform Aiden that if he was asked to exchange existence with a demon, he would do that and what he would do, he replied yes, but ironically would be used to do something good.

He loved the idea that he could move undisputed over the corridors of power all over the world and could scare the Beatsus from some of the people who are currently in power to do something positive in the world.

D: The Lost Diaries of Dracula

May 10, 2025 the launch of his exciting new comic horror book, D: The Lost Diaries of Dracula. The opening is from Hammer Horror Actress and Bond Girline Smith, best known for her performances in Taste the Blood of Dracula and Live and Let Die.

The story is a cleverly written Gothic memoirs of the legendary Prince of Darkness, which starts in Bucharest, where a mysteriously dated document is found, with creepy parallels with a particularly renowned vampire novel.

The writer is said to be an old nobleman with a appetite for blood and power, who only identifies himself as ‘d’, could this be the diary of the notorious Count Dracula, discovered after all these years?

It is an alternative version of the story that we all know and that we love, from the perspective of Dracula, but with the count as a wonderfully sad, dissatisfied vamp. D takes you on a hilarious journey through his travels, daily bloodlust encounters and diabolical accidents en route.

It has witty accompanying footnotes and many gore and unpleasantness that show the inspiration of Aiden from the work of the Great Terry Pratchett.

The book was made after it realized that Dracula is always written from the points of view of everything but him.

Aiden wanted to put himself in D -shoes to explore his motifs, to feel his frustrations to travel so far to find somewhere to safely rest and feed without attracting attention.

He said it was strange to feel such a bad guy on the side of such a bad guy, but also wanted to add some comic and stupid situations to deal with it and inject his own bizarre sense of humor.

Extensive research was carried out, reading different Dracula books, watching many films and Aiden explained how, despite the fact that they have read the original novel countless times, there are always things that are missed, so he reads annotated versions and even literary criticism of ideas again. He looked at the original version from 1931 with Bela Lugosi, the 1958 version with Christopher Lee, the Jack Palance TV film from 1974, the Louis Jourdan TV version from 1977, the Frank Langella image from 1979 and Gary Oldman’s 1992 Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

He came up with a timeline to follow, so that he could give ‘d’s perspective on the same events of the original entries, but also to throw in his own dates and events, especially in the beginning when D prepares for the arrival of Jonathan Harker, and then the last week of the novel when you only hear from the protagonists about their striving.

This meant that he was alone in terms of stories and had to move the story on his conditions, guess what he could do.

Aiden’s son Aaron made contact with Bram Stokers Great, Grand Neef and best -selling author Dacre Stoker and they were very happy to receive a personal message that gave them his wishes and offer the best success with this book.

Reading ‘D’ made me laugh a lot, I really enjoyed it and chat with Aiden, in -depth in his thoughts and curious spirit, the functioning of this fantastic story and what an honor of having a descendant of Bram, who was friendly words about his current company. I look forward to seeing what creepy future pleasures he now has in store for us.
