21st of Decemberst2021 is the day of our winter solstice. It is the shortest day of the year and the longest night, marking a powerful transition point between our seasons. It is no coincidence that we celebrate light during the darkest time of the year. Lighting lights on trees and houses, burning wood in the fireplace and lighting pine-scented candles lifts our spirits as we journey to the inner caves of our lives to hibernate for the winter.
The birth of the sun
The Winter Solstice celebrates the longest hours of darkness or the rebirth of the sun and is believed to contain powerful energy for regeneration, renewal, slowness, solitude and self-reflection.
In pagan times the winter solstice was called Yule and the Goddess or (Moon) energy was celebrated. It was believed that on this day the moon gave birth to the sun.
Every year the winter solstice falls a few days before Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The spiritual and energetic meaning of the winter solstice has multiple layers, but the most immediate relevance is the symbolic birth of the sun, and the birth of the sun is representative of the birth of Jesus and our Christ consciousness.
The birth of higher beings at the time of the solstice is symbolic of the birth of the spiritual sun within us and of knowing that we are not separate from the creator because we are all divine beings.
Solstice is derived from the Latin solstitium, which literally means ‘the standing still of the sun’. Winter Solstice is one of the most powerful times of the year, as the Earth’s axis pauses, shifts and moves in the opposite direction. For three days around the solstice points we experience the power of the standstill point and change of direction.
The stationary sun is a powerful metaphor for the energy available to us during the winter solstice. It symbolizes our ability to change the direction of our lives with the intention to build on this energy as we enter the new year.
Celebrating the birth of Jesus is symbolic of anointing our community with our divine essence, our inner light and our higher consciousness that is always available within us.
Closer to the Light
As we begin our new calendar year with the realization of our divinity and our commitment to fulfill our true calling in life, we begin the quest to fulfill our Soul Life Purpose, including why we came into embodiment, and this journey always gives us permission to follow our heart, our passion and our service to others.
The closer we are to the light, the easier it is for us to achieve human perfection and self-mastery. The Christ consciousness requires that we walk a path of integrity, including honesty, generosity, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and love for all sentient beings.
When we summon the greatness we were all born for, we connect with our inner hero and access our superpowers. We are not ordinary, superficial, materialistic members of a human race, but rather unique, insightful, spiritual beings capable of magic, miracles and extraordinary abilities.
Everyone has a Christ consciousness waiting to awaken within us. It is our birthright and responsibility to rise to the occasion and claim this wonderful gift that often lies dormant in the wake of our hearts and souls. How can we evoke this self-control? How do we put on the colors of the approved spiritual garment?
We begin by loving ourselves whole and completely, by accepting the dark and light qualities that make us unique, by forgiving ourselves for past mistakes, and by keeping a candlelight in our hearts and minds at all times.
But the important thing is that we don’t do all of this alone. We ask for help and accept it when it comes. We make ourselves available to help others when we are strong enough to bear a burden and we remain grateful for all of life’s circumstances and lessons.
Universal number 6 years
This year 2022 is a Universal number six year. It will give us a breather to integrate all the lessons that number five blew into our orbit last year.
Since the autumnal equinox in September, we have been energetically immersed in the power of our Universal Number 6 influence.
As the autumn leaves turned bright colors and made their final leap to the ground to be recycled back into the earth, we too have been shaking off the remnants of the current year and preparing to continue evolving with the frequency of 2022.
In the natural process of manifestation you can feel the power of setting intentions for the coming year during the thinning of the veils where the Universal year energies overlapped between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice.
Find a quiet time, place, and space to reinvent your life by imagining the best version of yourself during the weeks surrounding the winter solstice. And if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, this is of course your summer solstice.
We are all touched by the magic of the Christ Light during the cold and dark winter months, especially as we approach the winter solstice.
