A new survey has shown that young people and people without higher education most likely believe that the government of the United States hides the truth about UFOs.
The national poll, conducted in April 2025 by Nieuwsnation and decision agency, it turned out that 44% of Americans think that the government is hiding information about non -created flying objects. Although this head figure is remarkable in itself, it is the breakdown of beliefs between different demography that paints the most interesting image.
Believe in UFO secrecy is also higher in people with an ethnic minority background, in which 52% of black respondents and 49% of Spanish respondents say they think the government is hiding the truth. Among white respondents, faith was lower, with 41%.
Education also seems to play a role. Among those whose highest qualification is equal to GCSEs or A levels, 52% believe in government secret about UFOs. Among those who were present or graduates from the university, faith was considerably lower, by 36%.
The survey also emphasized political and regional differences. In the US, voters are broadly divided between the Republican and Democratic parties. Among those who identified as Republicans, 48% believed in a cover-up compared to 39% of the Democrats. Voters who do not strongly identify with one of the parties – known as “Independents” – were close to the national average at 44%.
There were also differences based on where people live. Americans who lived in urban areas previously believed in the UFO secrecy of the government (47%) compared to those in rural areas (41%). Regionally, faith was highest in the southern states (48%) and the lowest in the midwest (37%).
The survey was carried out online by TrueDot.ai from 23 to 27 April 2025, using a sample of 1,448 registered voters. In the US, registered voters are the ones who have officially registered to vote in elections. The poll was weighed to ensure that it reflected the population in terms of age, gender, race, education level and location. The error margin was ± 2.4%.
