Powerful Pluto is moving from Capricorn to Aquarius in a few days, and it brings us back to a whole new tour in Aquarius. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, and this transit fully comes to a close later in 2024.
We began to feel the transit of Pluto in Aquarius in 2023, as Pluto toured Aquarius from March 23rd to June 11th, 2023. This was a little taste of what’s to come, and this transit will last, on and off, until January 2044: 20 more years!
This year, Pluto enters Aquarius on January 20th and remains until September 1st, when it will go back to Capricorn for one last hurrah. It’ll come back to Aquarius on November 19th and will stay in Aquarius at that point, not to return to Capricorn again for a couple hundred years.

Since Pluto moves so slowly and will spend over 20 years touring Aquarius, this is absolutely massive. We are embarking on a whole new journey in our lives with Pluto in Aquarius.
This was strong last year with Saturn having moved into Pisces just before Pluto changed signs, and continues in 2024 with Pluto officially and fully moving into Aquarius. This will also go into 2025 as Uranus and Neptune also change signs. So much changing energy!
Pluto in Aquarius is so different from Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in Capricorn has torn down the structures that have existed for a long time that has become the status quo, and we’ve seen the downfall of many countries and corporations.
This leads us to Pluto in Aquarius, where the destruction may come suddenly and unexpectedly and can lead to massive changes that usher in a whole new future (especially with technology and science). Pluto in Aquarius challenges us to be open to change, to think outside the box, and to have some hope for what we can create.
This can seem scary at first, but it is ultimately a great thing. Sometimes we need things to be shaken up to thrust us into our potential and future and make us realize what’s possible.
With Uranus and Neptune changing signs next year, this adds to the major change in energy we’re experiencing. All three of the outer planets are on the move, and this means life can change in a pretty major way over the next couple of years.

Important Periods During Pluto in Aquarius
Since Pluto is going to be in Aquarius for so long, there are some periods that will be more important than others, so I wanted to highlight some of them. Mark your future calendars!
In November 2027, Pluto will conjunct, or align with, the transit North Node in Aquarius. The North Node is a part of the Lunar Nodes, which are the points in the Moon’s orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic. The Lunar Nodes are spiritual and karmic, and the North Node is our potential and purpose, but it’s an unfamiliar energy.
This means we’re pushed quite hard into manifesting the Pluto in Aquarius energy, to go forth into the future, embrace our quirks, and make a big leap. Change is likely something we’re all trying to make happen at this time, or at least it’s what we’re supposed to be doing.
Some may reject that because of the unfamiliarity of the North Node, but this is to your detriment. Go with it, face your fears, and bring forth the future you dream about.
On January 26th, 2028, there’s a Solar Eclipse that is conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, and this brings great opportunities for empowerment, transformation, and strengthening. If we can embrace Pluto conjunct the North Node a couple of months earlier, the Solar Eclipse can reward us.
There will be three Mercury retrogrades that conjunct Pluto in Aquarius: February 10th, 2028, February 16th, 2034, and February 28th, 2040.
These might be challenging times during Pluto in Aquarius, and Mercury retrograde highlights the issues we’re having with creating change, realizing our future, and being independent and unconventional. Karmic issues can get brought up as well.
Mercury retrograde is great for second chances, so these times might bring the ability to rediscover power, retake control, and rise from the ashes of defeat.
Transit Jupiter is going to tour Aquarius with Pluto during 2032-2033, and with Jupiter ruling expansion, new experiences, and opportunities, this is a super lucky period. Granted, the last time wasn’t lucky at all since that was 2020, but that was because Saturn was in play.
Saturn won’t be next time, and Jupiter and Pluto will officially conjunct on February 4th, 2033. This is amazing energy for transforming, empowering, and taking control. You can make yourself stronger and more willful.
It can seem like some have great luck at this time, and while some it might be luck, much of it is in your hands. You can create it, mold it, shape it, and control it. Look forward to this!
