Adam Tapp has shared his extraordinary account of what he went through while he was technically ‘dead’ for more than 11 minutes.
The veteran paramedic recently appeared on the Beyond the Veil podcast, where he described the near-death experience (NDE) he had in 2018 when a faulty wood etching device electrocuted him.
As Tapp’s wife performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life, he experienced a series of profound and otherworldly sensations.
He explained his experience as “looking spherically from a single point outward.”
“And I wasn’t Adam. I wasn’t dead. I was nothing,” he said told. “I was just perfect, like absolute satisfaction. There was no sense of consistency with anything. [I] existed simply as consciousness.”
Tapp described feeling a “frequency” washing over him, accompanied by fractal patterns. “It was like gasoline on water, this rainbow effect was iridescent to a degree,” he said.

“It was just this combination of thoughts, feelings and emotions,” he continued. “It was as if I actually became a fabric of the universe. And it was absolutely perfect.”
Despite the surreal nature of the experience, Tapp said he felt no fear. “There was no fear and it was nothing. This was just the natural progression of what each of us is going to do.”
Tapp eventually regained consciousness at a hospital after being in a coma for about eight hours. However, his perception of time during the event was greatly altered.
“If someone had told me it was five years ago or 10 years ago, I would have been all over that,” he revealed.
Even after his discharge from the hospital, the experience left a deep impression on him. “[I was] I was left with the overwhelming feeling that this is just the stage,” he said. “[It] is simply an evolution of consciousness.”
Near-death experiences are reported by individuals who have come close to death or have been brought back to life after being clinically dead for a while.
These experiences often include vivid sensations, a sense of detachment from the body, encounters with light or alien beings, and overwhelming feelings of peace or unity.
Research into NDEs shows that they can have a lasting impact on individuals, often leading to profound changes in attitudes, values and beliefs. Many describe a newfound appreciation for life, reduced fear of death, and a deeper sense of connection to the universe or a higher power.
While skeptics argue that NDEs may be the result of neurological or chemical processes in the brain during moments of crisis, those who have experienced them often describe them as very real and transformative.
