Millions of motorists have seen ghosts, UFOs and even Bigfoot while on British roads

Millions of motorists have seen ghosts, UFOs, large cats and even bigfoot while they are on the road in the UK, according to a large new study.

In general, 9% of the more than 1,000 survey said respondents that they had seen a ‘ghost’ while crossing the spooky highways and side roads of Great Britain. That is the equivalent of 3.79 million motorists, with around 42 million driving license holders in the UK.

A surprising 8% said they had seen a UFO (non -ignored flying object) out of the window of their vehicle.

Another 8% also reported a glimpse of one of the infamous large cats in the UK-as the black Jaguar-like ‘Beast of Bodmin’ while he was on the way.

And although Bigfoot reports are unusual in the United Kingdom, they are clearly not outside the rich of the possibility, in which 3% of the respondents of the Select Cars Leasing Survey suspected that they had seen one – the equivalent of around 1.26 million motorists.

Graham Conway, managing director at Select Car Leasing, said: “The results of our new supernatural survey are surprising to say the least, with a considerable part of the British audience that suspects that they have seen something extraordinary while driving in the VK.

“Yet the data may not be surprising.

“Great -Britain is finally known as the ‘Haunted Isle’ with reports from the supernatural that comes from the end of the country to John O’Groats. We also spend many hours in our cars and vans every week, give us sufficient opportunity to spot something unusual – such as ufo’s or mysterious big cats – while we the lands.

Motorists from Noord -Ireland had probably seen a ghost, with no less than 22% of the respondents who believed they had seen a ghost.

The most ghostly road in Noord -Ireland is considered the Upper Malone Road, south of Belfast in the Lagan -Valley, where the spirit of a woman holding her baby has scared motorists for years.

Londoners were most likely to say that they had witnessed a road-going ghost in England, with 18% of the respondents of the capital of the capital they had seen a spirit.

UFOS -sometimes now known as UAPS (not -experienced deviation from the phenomena) dominated the headlines in recent months thanks to an eruption of observations in America and a Pentagon report in the phenomena.

Here in the UK, Mystery ‘Drones’ was seen at the end of 2024 in three air bases in Great Britain, which caused an investigation by the Air Force of the United States (USAF).

For decades, British have reported that they have seen a certain type of wild animal that should not be here – a large, often black, leopard feline cat.

Cornwall’s so -called ‘Beast of Bodmin’ is an example, while Dartmoor and Exmoor also have their own ‘animals’.

Some suspect that the beings were once exotic pets that now bloom in the wild, where owners have dumped them after the introduction of the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976, who heralded stricter new rules to keep the cats.

In May 2024, the DNA of a large cat in the Panthera gender – was supposed to be a leopard – on a sheep carcass in the Lake District, with the analysis revealed by a laboratory at the University of Warwick and by some seen as convincing ‘evidence’ that large cats exist in the VK.

From the Select Car -Leasing study, 12% of the respondents from Yorkshire and the Humber (behind Londoners, 15%, in 1st place) found a ‘big cat’ while he was on his way.

In November 2024, Walkers on Moors filmed a large black cat bowling agricultural land in the vicinity of Askrigg, North Yorks and found ‘torn to Shreds’ with a sheep.

Although ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch’ type beings are often associated with the enormous wilderness areas of North America, it is also said that they are lurking here in Blighty.

In March 2024, members of the Solid Coasteering Group saw and photographed a huge footprint on the Maidencombe coastal path in Torquay, Devon, with reports on a ‘Littlefoot’ type Beast that had been reported in the nearby forest for decades.

A group of fishermen on the South Downs (Hampshire/East Sussex) reported that in 2024 he was stalked by a ‘grimping’ creature, an event that made them terrified.
