Dear friends,
I hope you are all doing well and taking good care of yourselves and your loved ones!
The next New Moon takes place on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 6:57 PM Eastern US time, when the Sun and Moon meet at 14 degrees and 23 minutes Cancer. Their association stimulates the Eclipse points of March 25 and (especially) April 9 – April’s Eclipse was at 19 degrees Aries – by squaring them and bringing to the fore the stories and (especially!) the conflicts from that moment in our lives to bring. (What were you worried about in March and April?)
This energy is especially powerful for those of us living in North America, as the path of totality from the April Eclipse crossed our part of the world.
The fact that this is the first New Moon of the summer season also makes it extra powerful for manifestation.
The Moon is out of bounds at this time, and will remain so in the New Moon chart, making us emotionally unstable and prone to catastrophizing. Pallas Athena and Ceres are also PIE: be careful not to be caught devising unworkable strategies while leaving practical tasks unfinished. Planets out of reach create roller coaster energy: high highs, low lows. And the moon is changeable by nature.
The New Moon in Cancer opposes Ceres in Capricorn, leading to conflicts over death and rebirth, tradition, and the passage of time. The fact that it is the first New Moon of our summer season (which I discussed in my recent Cancer Ingress video) makes it extra powerful for manifestation.
The New Moon chart has not one, or two, or three, but FOUR Mystical Rectangles – along with two Grand Triangles (which together form a Star of David) and six Kites. . . most of which have earth and water energy. Kites fly high and whip around quickly. It’s a GREAT time to take a bird’s eye view of your life and move your energy in new, expected AND unexpected directions.
Remember: we can manifest results without even intending to! Despite our fickle, changing moods (hope, despair), it is wisest to keep focusing attention and energy on what we want to create, rather than dwelling on what we don’t want!
