People are conditioned to consider as ‘real’ only what they can perceive through their sensory faculties. You have learned to identify with your physical body – that “you” = Jane Doe, female, born 1985 in Los Angeles, American, liberal, 125 pounds, lawyer, and that all of this has something essential to do with who you are .
This narrow definition is like blindfolding yourself and claiming that darkness is the only thing that is real! You are much, much more than just the physical vessel of your body and its worldly experiences, trapped in the linear time of this incarnation.
You are Consciousness
Your essential, true being is consciousness. Not your physical body. Your physical body is in no way the sum of who you really are.
The mind-body interface experiences a very small frequency range called visible light, and there is very, very much in this universe that falls outside this range. The five human senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell provide only a very small window of perception into the true reality of what is really there. If the range of your senses were expanded even slightly, you would find yourself viewing a completely different world.
Many creatures can perceive aspects of reality that are not visible to humans. Cats can see in infrared frequencies that the human eye cannot see. Dogs can hear sound frequencies that are much too high for the human ear to register. The reality our animal friends live in includes things that aren’t “real” to us at all, but if you’ve ever seen the effect of a dog whistle on your pup, you would never deny that these phenomena actually exist!
Likewise, there are certain species of fish that can only see in two dimensions. Their range of perception excludes much of what we can see. From a fish’s perspective, “reality” is just a small part of what we consider reality.
The point is that everything you see only appears in the form it does because your sensory device is tuned to certain specific vibration rates.
There is a whole cosmic library of information you can download if you can open your mind to the reality that lies beyond the narrow slit of sensory perception. When you tap into the powers, you let go of the idea of yourself as a finite and limited being and step into the truth of who you are, which is infinite consciousness.
The out-of-body experience
One of the most important tools for this type of spiritual expansion is what is known as astral projection, or the out-of-body experience.
Astral projection is a phenomenon in which an individual’s consciousness detaches from the physical body (while remaining attached to it by a silver energetic cord) and makes excursions both to places in the physical world and to non-physical dimensions. You can remotely view loved ones anywhere on the planet, and you can visit the pre-incarnate planes or the place we return to after death.
The individual’s consciousness manifests in the ‘astral body’, also known as the ‘psychosome”, and travels away from the physical body in this ethereal form. We all interact with this non-physical dimension at all times during waking hours and while sleeping, but Astral Projection allows one to consciously perceive the energetic levels and all that resides within them.
Astral projection can thus greatly enhance one’s understanding of the energetic bodies, including the Chakra system, and having this ‘insider perspective’ of the energetic realms can have countless benefits in all kinds of metaphysical, somatic or therapeutic practices.
Some of the other benefits of Astral Projection include:
- Personal proof of life after death, causing the fear of death to be lost
- Meetings with loved ones who have passed away
- Clarification of the purpose of this life that was established before birth
- Increase in parapsychic abilities, intuition, extrasensory perceptions, energetic self-control and personal energetic defense
- Heightened awareness of the energetic interactions with physical and non-physical individuals
- Direct conversation with guides, angels, protectors and spirit helpers
- Memory of past lives
- Transfer of therapeutic energies outside the body to those in need
- Expanding self-knowledge and accelerating the process of maturing consciousness
- Lucid dreams
Types of Astral Projections
There are different types of astral projection or out-of-body experiences. Spontaneous projections are unplanned projections beyond the individual’s control. In these types of projections, a person may take a nap or go to sleep, then “wake up” and find themselves outside the body, sometimes even seeing their physical body sleeping. The person may be completely bewildered by the experience and have no conscious idea of how to repeat the experience.
Unconscious projections are characterized by a feeling of falling or sinking, followed by waking up with a sudden jolt. This shock is the astral body, which had been floating above the body for some time and abruptly reconnected with the physical body. Sometimes these experiences are accompanied by dreams about falling from a great height or flying. Most people separate themselves from their physical bodies at least a few inches every night when they go to sleep. The natural process allows us to charge our astral body, our emotional vessel, with the subtle energy it needs.
Forced projections sudden and spontaneous exit from the physical body, usually caused by a sudden shock or trauma to the body, such as a car accident, brutal violence, or an extreme wartime emergency. Many people who would not otherwise believe in paranormal events have related the experience of suddenly looking at their own physical body, from outside or above, often with remarkable calm detachment and clarity, even despite the astonishing surprise of being out of the body jumped. !
Clear projections, where a person is fully aware and in control of the direction of the astral journey, is the most productive form of astral projection, and one that rewards extensive practice and study. Anyone can learn to astral project, although like anything else there will be varying levels of natural ability. Some people are much more firmly ‘glued’ to the physical world, while others can barely keep their feet on the ground! There are many techniques available to suit the unique temperament of the practitioner.
How to perform a successful astral projection
There are three basic skills required for a successful Out-of-Body experience.
The first step is to relax the physical body to the point where the astral body is free to leave the confines of the body. It is helpful to do guided meditations, which move awareness through the body and tighten and relax each muscle one by one. The more relaxed the body is, the easier it will be for the psychosome to release into the ethereal realms.
Knowing how to open your chakras and facilitate a balanced flow of energy chi or prana throughout the energy body can be a great help in this process. Blocked chakras in the energy body can cause the astral body to remain stuck to the physical body. For example, you may relax to the point where you feel your legs and arms floating, and even allow the head of the astral body to move, but feel as if there is a weight on top of the chest holding you back. In the body.
The second skill for Astral Projection is maintaining clarity while projecting. This essentially means the process of keeping the mind awake and the body asleep so that you can recognize and understand the information you encounter while projecting onto the astral planes.
The third element necessary for the process of astral projection is a good memory. As with dreams, astral projections can very easily be immediately forgotten when they return to waking consciousness, and therefore it is important to implement certain practices that help transmit and store the information collected.
One technique for successful projections is self-suggestion, where an intention is repeated five or ten times before the projection attempt.
You can say something like, “I will come out of my body, remain clear, and I will remember everything when I return.” It is important to pay attention to what you say and say it with energy and confidence. You can also try repeating the information you want to remember while you are out of your body, or repeating your intention to remember what you are learning as you learn it.
There are many schools and methods for learning Astral Projection, and each unique individual will need to find the one that works best for them. Have fun exploring!
