During the weekend I was on a public ghost hunt. There were about 10 of us in the fairly small kitchen of an old country house. Several guests started calling for all the spirits that would chase this part of the house, and because it was a kitchen, they spoke to a chef.
This is fair enough, but what I found interesting was that someone shouted at some point: “Are we in the way? Are we preventing you from doing your work?” Now this means that the chef’s spirit could see us in the kitchen, which is fine, but if you believe that this is the case, then you also have to accept that the spirit would see the rest of the kitchen as it looks today.
After being completely destroyed by fire and recently restored as a tourist attraction, the layout of the kitchen is probably now very different from what it once was to let visitors walk on. None of the luminaires or fittings are original, the food on the worksheets is plastic and glued on the counter, none of the devices work and the utensils have been determined on the work surfaces. So if the Spirit can see us and our environment, it must realize that it is no longer in a working kitchen.
That is why the Spirit would not feel that we are standing in its own way and they are not there in the past to discuss the work obligations of the past. This makes the question that the Ghost Hunter asked a bit contradictory in nature. Either the Spirit can see us and the simulated fake kitchen, or it sees the kitchen as it was without being there.
If we now assume that spirits cannot see us or our environment, then it is of course possible that spirits can see the world as they knew it, and they can continue their old life and cook in the kitchen.
However, this creates new problems for ghost hunters, because if the mind cannot see us or the objects around them, how do they go on?
One of the ghost hunters at the event shouted: “Can you move the pan hanging on the ceiling?” Assuming that the Spirit can even hear us if it cannot see us, it could not see the hanging pan, it has only been placed there in recent years and it has been resolved.
If the Spirit, who sees the Chamber from his time, would respond to the request, it would move a pan in its own time – a pan that has long been gone that we could not see.
Similarly, when a guest beat on the large wooden table in the middle of the table and shouted: “Can you copy and hit this?” That is a new table from our time, it didn’t exist for them, there might have been no table, and if they couldn’t see the table, how would they hear sounds produced by it?
We can go one step further, how can every spirit deal with our environment if he cannot see them? Ghosts are said to move objects, knock on surfaces, turn doors on and off, but if it cannot see the world around us, then it is not possible to do these things, which creates a fundamental error with regard to some of the most believing characteristics of spiritual behavior.
Logically, this means that for every spooky effect as they are reported and, as most ghost hunters believe they are present, then a spirit must be able to see us and our environment and to be able to communicate with them – at least sometimes. This conclusion literally explains how things bump into the night, to how Poltergeist activity can occur.
Until this conclusion is still a few problems. First, when spirits see the world as it appears today rather than it appeared in their time, we must accept that spirits are not trapped that the tasks they would ever have when they were still alive as was generally assumed – this assumption must be wrong. Secondly, there is doubt about the ordinary claim that spirits run through walls on points where there was once a door.
You can’t get it in both sides … or right? Perhaps spirits float between these two conditions of consciousness, and try to apply logic and reason is not possible when dealing with the paranormal. Or maybe it is only those who believe in the paranormal who are not willing to accept logic and reason because it challenges their predefined beliefs.
