Recently retired Army Col. Karl Nell declared: “There is a hierarchy of beings. Non-human intelligence has interacted with humanity. This interaction is not new; it is happening and there is no doubt about it.”
For those who study unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and the broader issue of extraterrestrial contacts, the announcement was more than just an admission.
Unlike the often sensational statements that dominate the internet, Nell’s words have weight. As a military officer and advisor to the UAP task force, his credibility makes his comments difficult to dismiss.
Yet the implications of his statement are not limited to congressional hearings or classified briefings. They seep into the broader fabric of human understanding and indicate an intelligence that is both ancient and purposeful.
Nell’s statement invites us to consider not only whether we are alone, but also how such interactions, hidden in plain sight, have shaped humanity. And more importantly, what does this ongoing interaction reveal about the motives of non-human intelligence (NHI)?
A hierarchy beyond our understanding
Nell’s idea of a “hierarchy of beings” echoes throughout history. His use of the term is notable for its universality. By speaking of “humanity” rather than governments or individuals, he situates this interaction at a level that encompasses all of human existence.
His concept finds a parallel in the work of Diana Pasulka, a scholar whose book Meetings explores the intersection of faith and the UFO phenomenon.
Pasulka describes a taxonomy of beings proposed by a pseudonymous researcher, Tyler, placing God at the top, followed by angels, aliens, intelligence factions, ordinary humans, and animals. This layered structure does not suggest a chaotic cosmos, but a carefully organized reality, in which humanity’s position is both modest and precarious.
Here is a quote from Pasulka’s book “Encounters” (page 180):
Pasulka: “Then Tyler [alias for Timothy Taylor] taught others about his research, he often presented his taxonomy of creatures, which was his cosmological worldview. In this hierarchy of beings, God was placed at the top. Then came angels and then beings from outside the planet. “Off-planet” is the term Tyler used for aliens.”
Pasulka: “This included “certain factions within intelligence communities.” These included ordinary people, and then animals. He also had a phrase that he used very often, which was “connect the dots.” When I asked him about the factions of people within intelligence communities he was referring to, who in his view were higher in the cosmological hierarchy than ordinary people, he told me to “connect the dots.”
For Karl Nell, interactions with NHI are not a relic of ancient myth or religious lore, but a contemporary and ongoing phenomenon.
“There is no doubt whatsoever,” he insists, as if speaking from personal experience or knowledge of evidence the public has yet to see. This certainty raises questions about the nature of these beings: are they spiritual messengers, advanced alien civilizations, or even something more?
The butterfly effect
The idea of a planned ripple effect – where small actions lead to large-scale social changes – is not new. But the concept takes on an otherworldly dimension when applied to the NHI.
These beings are said to have a level of precognition or precognition that allows them to “awaken” people at specific points in their lives and set them on paths that impact countless others.
This strategy appears to bypass traditional power hierarchies. Instead of reaching out to world leaders, NHI interactions seem to focus on grassroots influencers – teachers, artists and everyday people.
It is a bottom-up approach that bypasses the entrenched structures of governments and corporations and promotes a more organic spread of ideas and awareness.
They bypass the gatekeepers. If this is a coordinated effort, it is intended to awaken humanity incrementally, in ways that will be impossible to suppress.
The personal costs of contact
For people like Kevin Day, a radar operator involved in the infamous 2004 USS Nimitz “Tic Tac” incident, contact with NHI has brought torment, not relief. Day has described vivid apocalyptic dreams – visions of comets, tsunamis and global disasters – that have haunted him for years.
“The dreams I started having in 2008 can loosely be described as eschatological,” he says said. “They cause acute anxiety, and sometimes the intensity is overwhelming.”
Mario Woods, a former security official at a nuclear missile silo, reported similar experiences. During a meeting in 1977, Woods saw creatures that resembled the iconic “Communion Greys” depicted on the cover of Whitley Strieber’s book. The event was accompanied by a ‘life review’ and subsequent apocalyptic dreams, which left him deeply shaken.
These accounts indicate a dual nature of NHI interactions. While some experiencers describe feelings of interconnectedness and spiritual awakening, others struggle with existential anxiety and psychological trauma. The disparity raises questions about the intent and ethics of NHI, assuming they are intentional actors in these events.
Why subtlety over spectacle?
The eternal question lingers: If NHI exists, why not land on the White House lawn? There are plenty of theories, but a recurring idea is that humanity is simply not ready for it. Sudden revelations can destabilize societies, undermine religious and scientific paradigms, and cause widespread panic.
John Mack, a Harvard psychiatrist who studied kidnapping symptoms, suggested that NHI’s actions are akin to a gradual revelation:
“We tend to think of “us” and “them,” but one way to think about it is that there is a kind of coming together. That is a relationship and that the intelligence that brings us together is not ours or theirs, but the motivational structure is at a higher level. [dimension].
“And that they get something from it, maybe some kind of embodiment, some kind of biological evolution. And we get something, namely an opening of our consciousness. A kind of return to the sacred. So the whole thing is not orchestrated at our level. I really wonder if there isn’t another consciousness, some kind of divine consciousness, at work here.”
“The unpardonable sin of the Western mind is when something that should exist in the spirit world transgresses and shows up in the physical world,” Mack noted. “That traffic destroys belief structures and forces people to face realities they are unwilling to accept.”
This perspective suggests that NHI’s strategy is not merely about revelation, but about transformation – a slow and deliberate process of integrating humanity into a larger, multi-dimensional reality.
In this view, the goal is not just to reveal their existence, but to elevate human consciousness to a state capable of understanding and dealing with it.
The clock is ticking
Despite the measured pace of this supposed interaction, time may not be on humanity’s side. With escalating geopolitical tensions, ecological crises and the ever-present threat of nuclear conflict, the stakes for both humanity and NHI appear to be increasing.
Figures like Daniel Sheehan and Luis Elizondo have warned of the urgency.
Daniel Sheehan: We must mobilize now to prepare for the alien intervention that is about to take place. It is rare for a planet to produce life, and they will not allow our species to destroy it.
Sheehan, a legal advocate for UAP transparency, has argued that humanity must prepare for what he calls an “alien intervention.”
Elizondo, a former Pentagon official, has similarly emphasized that “time is a luxury we cannot afford.”
If NHI has a vested interest in the Earth’s future—be it environmental, spiritual, or otherwise—their long game could soon collide with humanity’s increasingly precarious position. The question remains: will we be ready?
