We’re just a few weeks away from 2025, and with a new year comes a brand new astrology – including all new Full Moons, New Moons and eclipses!
Full Moons occur when the transiting (moving) Sun and Moon are opposite each other, so they are in exact opposite positions in the zodiac. This is at odds with the fact that the Moon controls the emotions and the Sun controls it itself, causing emotions to run high. Full Moons bring endings and culminations.
Meanwhile, new moons occur when the transiting Sun and Moon are conjunct or aligned in the zodiac. New Moons are energetic and enthusiastic and push us to take action on what we want to start. This is a time of new beginnings.
We go back and forth from one New Moon to one Full Moon and back again to a New Moon and then another Full Moon. This changes approximately every two weeks. We have eclipses about every six months, and lunar eclipses occur at Full Moons, while Solar Eclipses occur at New Moon.
New and Full Moons have an impact for about two weeks before and after, but eclipses have an impact for up to six months before and after. Their greater opportunity to influence us means they can pack a bigger punch and cause life-changing opportunities, decisions, plans, ideas and results.
We have one New Moon and one Full Moon approximately every month, for a total of about 12-13 per year. We have about 4 to 6 eclipses every year, and in 2025 there will be four: two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses.

The 2025 eclipses end with Aries and focus on new signs
We often have four eclipses a year, two of each, and that will happen in 2025. The 2025 eclipses will occur in three zodiac signs: Aries, Virgo, and Pisces.
Eclipses occur in pairs of opposite signs, and we close out the Aries-Libra eclipse set and move fully into the Virgo-Pisces eclipse set.
Lunar Eclipse in Virgo: March 14, 2025
The first eclipse comes as a lunar eclipse in practical Virgo, the sign of work, the mundane and everyday life. The Virgo Lunar Eclipse can bring about great developments in our daily lives, and we can see the results of the work we have done.
Virgo rules the little things, so developments may be minor or at least seem minor at the time. This may add up later or be bigger than we realize at the moment, but making it seem smaller can help us manage it well and avoid overwhelm.
The hardest part of a Virgo Lunar Eclipse is the stress, and we get stressed to the point quite easily. It is very important to have healthy outlets for stress to avoid burnout or turning stress into physical health problems.
This embezzlement opposes transit Saturn in Pisces and trines transit Uranus in Taurus. The opposition to Saturn can bring some restrictive energy, and we may have difficulty finding options to solve problems.
Normally we need to be responsible and disciplined towards Saturn, so stay the course and don’t try to cut corners. Things may not be as limited as they seem, so have some patience until it’s over.
The trine to Uranus offers an opportunity to do things differently, to experiment and embrace the unconventional, and this could be the way out of the limitation. However, maintain discipline and be smart about any changes you make or anything you do differently; it can pay off.
Solar Eclipse in Aries: March 29, 2025
Then comes an Aries Solar Eclipse, which is the finale embezzlement in Aries for some time. It is also the third solar eclipse in Aries, as we had one in 2023 and 2024.
This means that developments with this eclipse may align with what you have been focused on for the past two years, and you may have started something two years ago that is paying off, or you may cross the finish line in 2025.
This eclipse is accompanied by Mercury retrograde, or appearing to retrograde, as well as Venus retrograde, and both Mercury and Venus retrograde begin earlier in March, causing this Eclipse in Aries. The eclipse energy is strong, but given the retrogrades it may not be focusing on anything new, so this again gives the idea that developments are happening with something you started 1-2 years ago.
Spiritual Neptune is also moving into Aries the next day, on March 30, 2025, and it may mean that you are entering a new phase, the next chapter with what you started 1-2 years ago, and where you are now developing. sees. With Neptune you can develop a stronger intuitive connection and tap into creativity.
Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: September 7, 2025
The second lunar eclipse in 2025 will be in Pisces, and this is the second because there was a Pisces lunar eclipse in September 2024, and there will be another in August 2026, so we are now in the middle of 2025.
This continues the Pisces-Virgo embezzlement set. In Pisces, this greatly increases the spiritual, karmic, subconscious and intuitive energy of lunar eclipses, as Pisces also rules these things.
This was a lot stronger with the 2024 solar eclipse as it was conjunct Neptune, the natural ruler of Pisces, amplifying the impact. But before 2025 the Pisces Lunar Eclipse will occur with Saturn anaretic in Pisces.
There are 30 degrees in each zodiac sign, and 29 degrees is the last degree. This is called the anaretic degree, and it is super strong energy and can be difficult to handle with the transiting planets.
Transit Saturn anaretic in Pisces means we are likely to struggle with more of our karmic baggage and lessons, and we need to be gentle with ourselves and others and pay more attention to the past and intuitive insights.
This is an important time for letting go, understanding and reflecting, so many of us are likely to do so. If you’ve already gone through your baggage, you might feel extra inspired and receive lots of intuitive downloads.
This eclipse favors trine Jupiter in Cancer, so this provides some help, and it can be easier to keep the big picture in mind, be optimistic about what we’re working on, and keep an open mind.
Solar Eclipse in Virgo: September 21, 2025
This is the first and only Virgo solar eclipse for Virgo-Pisces embezzlement set, and while it may be the only one, it packs a huge punch because it’s anaretic! Like I just said, this is super strong energy, and with a Solar Eclipse we can be motivated to take action right away, especially since this is the first and last in Virgo.
This means taking quick action on opportunities in our work to make changes in our daily lives, take on new projects, change our routines, improve our health and become more productive.
However, we need to be careful not to be too hasty, and we have thought about that carefully. If we jump without looking, we could end up in a giant puddle and ruin our favorite shoes!
This is even more important with this eclipse opposite transit Saturn, so we must once again keep Saturn in mind and remain disciplined, practical, focused, responsible and ethical.
Major new and full moons in 2025
In addition to the solar eclipses, these are the New and Full Moons in 2025 that can also be important and that you should pay attention to.
Full Moon in Cancer: January 13, 2025
Yes, the very first Full Moon for 2025 is a doozy thanks to the occurring conjunct transit Mars retrograde, which moves from Leo to Cancer on January 6, 2025. Mars retrograde can bring great frustrations and annoyances, and Full Moons can be subjectively emotional. , so it’s not a good combination.
Our emotional responses can be all wrong, with Cancer being the sign of emotion. When we are upset, we lash out irrationally and unpredictably. The point is that what we think is upsetting us is probably not the actual problem, and it covers what the REAL problem is.
We must be willing to face old emotional problems and emotional baggage. Otherwise, this Full Moon could land us in some serious hot water, and we may not find a way out until after Mars retrograde ends (February 23).
Full Moon in Libra: April 12, 2025
The Full Moon coming out of Eclipse season is interesting because it falls on the same day as Venus retrograde ends, and is in Libra, and Venus is the natural ruling planet. This means that the Full Moon brings extra attention and focus to the Venus energy as the retrograde comes to an end.
This can be an important time to focus on our connections with others, as Mercury and Venus retrogrades could make it all about ourselves. We must work to improve our connections with others.
By having healthy, strong connections with others, we feel more emotionally stable and secure, and can emerge from Venus retrograde in a better place.
New Moon in Cancer: June 25, 2025
The Cancer New Moon is excellent because it comes just as Jupiter has just entered Cancer (June 9) and is fortunately conjunct Jupiter. This brings a lot of energy to our interactions at home, with the family and emotionally.
We can improve our living situation or make changes in our home environment, reconnect with those we consider family, and provide support and encouragement. This could be a good time to move or expand our family.
Since Cancer controls the emotions, we have a quite positive outlook on life and feel good emotionally, which helps us make the most of opportunities. We may end up focusing on an opportunity that allows us to start something, and in about six months we can see the developments. We can work on it for the next six years.
This is probably the most favorable New Moon for 2025 and one of the most favorable times of the year.
New Moon in Scorpio: November 20, 2025
This New Moon is packed with energy because it is conjunct Mercury retrograde, which moved back into Scorpio just 1 1/2 days before the New Moon, and opposes anaretic Uranus in Taurus, trine-anaretic Neptune in Pisces, and widely conjunct Venus in Scorpio and trine Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer. Almost every planet is in the mix!
This can mean that important events and developments have a broad impact and reach, reaching into many areas of life. With Mercury retrograde, this could involve something or someone from the past, and we would benefit from taking a big second chance at something.
The opposition to Uranus means we are a bit restless and impulsive, so we need to keep that in check and work on small changes that can happen quickly. Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune all bring useful energy, and we can work well together, commit to whatever is happening, see the benefits, make progress and feel connected.
Intuition can be very strong during this New Moon, and it would be a good idea to work on a solid connection, so pay attention to whatever comes up. Events can feel like they are meant to be, and we can feel good about that.
Good luck with the moon energy
So that’s the list of the important new and full moons and the impact of the four solar eclipses in 2025.
No matter what happens, take care of yourself emotionally, provide healthy outlets for anger, and try to go with the flow a little better.
