Dear friends,
The New Moon in Capricorn comes bright and early: Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6:57 AM Eastern US Time (see chart below!) when the Sun and Moon meet at 20 degrees and 41 minutes Capricorn. Both lights are just in the orb of their conjunctions with Pluto: the Sun’s conjunction with Pluto will be perfect next week, just before they both enter Aquarius.
This is both the first New Moon of the year and the last New Moon in Capricorn while Pluto is in Capricorn. . . something that won’t happen again for 228 years. This season marks the end of our Pluto-in-Capricorn journey that began in November 2008! Where does it end for you, and what’s next?
This energy also takes us back to the fall of 2020 – yes, the early stages of Covid – when Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter were all dancing together in the late degrees of Capricorn.
There is no sky in the chart except the South Node in Libra, and although Fire and Water are well represented, Earth dominates. This is a time of action and no talk!
The New Moon’s trine to Uranus in Taurus invites creativity: thinking outside the box to come up with solutions to real-world problems. The cardinal earth sign Capricorn helpfully stimulates Fixed Earth Taurus, creating the possibility of meaningful change.
In fact, we have a Grand Trine on Earth, with the asteroid Juno in Virgo forming the third point of the triangle. You need support to create what you’re creating, and luckily it’s close by!
There is a generally large amount of major configurations in the sky right now (all of which I plan to discuss tonight during my New Moon Manifestation Circle webinar! ETA: Here is the link to purchase the recordings and slides.).
The other one I’ll note here is a Movable Cross, formed by Ceres and Mercury in Sagittarius (you can throw Venus in there too if you like, although she’s a bit off target), Juno in Virgo, Neptune in Pisces, and Vesta in Gemini.
Mutable Crosses put us in a state of flux: the status quo won’t last much longer, so you might as well jump now instead of waiting to be pushed. The vision you formulated for yourself at the end of 2020 is ready to be launched.
Whether you participate in class or create a ritual of your own, I hope you take the time to sit with your soul and set your intentions for the coming 30 day and two and a half year cycles under this New Moon.
I wish you everything your heart desires!
Big hugs,
Anne
PS In case you missed it my latest newsletter . . . I want to make sure I can launch a very special program that I’m participating in this year, starting in February. I recently joined forces with two BRILLIANT astrologers Margaret Gray and Rachel Lang for a series of courses on relationships and astrology. We’ll be teaching a three-day online intensive in February, followed by some in-depth certification courses in March and September. I am so excited to collaborate with these amazing women and focus on this vital topic. This program is especially good for astrologers of all levels, especially those who read for clients: you KNOW that 90% of what people want to talk to an astrologer about is, well, relationships!
