Ready to close 2023? Ready or not, there are a few retrograde-related events you might want to look at first…
Neptune will end its retrograde this month on the 6th, bringing us greater clarity and understanding as we can now make full use of the insights the retrograde has offered us. Jupiter will also go direct into Taurus on the 30th, ending its retrograde as well.
But just when you thought the tide of retrogrades was about to fully recede, you know that’s not all there is in the stars! Actually, Mercury retrograde will start this month on the 13th – and despite all the shame this retrograde brings, it can actually be quite a catalyst for growth and self-reflection.
What a doozy of events, right? To really understand what this all means, we decided to turn to the Tarot for guidance (with one Major Arcana and one Minor Arcana each!).

Ram
Judgment & 5 of Cups
Ramit’s time to think, reflect and understand.
While the 5 of Cups indicates that this month you may be looking back on the tougher times in your life – periods of loss, disappointment and sadness – that doesn’t mean it’s all gloom and doom.
In fact, Judgment indicates that you may have a new perspective and awareness up your sleeve that will color these events in a new light. You will be able to gain valuable insights from this time and discover lessons that you may have missed before.
Keep your heart And keep an open mind, and be willing to learn and receive.
Taurus
The World (reverse) and 8 of Cups (reverse)
Taurusyour world may be turned upside down right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to wallow in defeat.
The upside-down world is literally on the table in front of you, which is actually not that dramatic when everything is turned upside down. Instead, you’re more likely to experience a general feeling of disconnection and a lack of satisfaction in your pursuits.
Combined with the 8 of Cups reversed, you may be dragging your feet when it comes to moving on and moving away from things that no longer really serve you, whether it’s a person, an expectation or an idea you have about yourself or others .

Twin is feeling a bit risky and unconventional this month.
With The Hierophant reversed, you are currently uninterested in following the rules of others. Convention and tradition are boring you right now, although this isn’t all that new or arbitrary for the inventive and sometimes unpredictable Gemini.

Cancer
The Star (reversed) and the Ace of Pentacles
Cancer has opportunities coming, but these things are not always as simple as they seem.
While the Ace of Pentacles is a positive omen for employment, financial blessings and benefits, and planting seeds of abundance for the future, the reversed star indicates frustration and stagnation taking place on an internal, spiritual level.
If you’re disconnected from your own internal vision, you’re also less likely to have a clear perspective on the actual opportunities surrounding you.
While it can be tempting to fixate on all things purely tangible and practical, remember that true abundance comes from within first.
Lion
The Emperor and two wands (reverse)
Lion may be the brave lion that others need right now, but also struggles to keep track of his own affairs.
The Emperor indicates that you radiate an air of confidence and leadership that others will look up to this month. People trust you because of your stable expertise and powerful presence.
The 2 of Wands, however, have turned notes that might make you feel shakier your activities, even if it feels like others see you as responsible and fine on your own.

The 8 of Pentacles reversed describes your struggle to get motivated for a work routine this month. You may find yourself postponing or lagging behind on your existing projects and responsibilities.
This is probably because, as The High Priestess Reversed indicates, you are experiencing a spiritual, intuitive block within yourself. Sometimes we have to go to ourselves on a more unconscious, invisible level before we put the visible and obvious tasks on the table.
You may not need to check more items off the to-do list… you may just need a solid meditation session first.

The Tower and 3 Swords
Scalethis month could be one for the books – and ripping the band-aid off, it won’t be an easy ride.
The Tower and the 3 of Swords are somewhat infamous cards that indicate turmoil and heartbreak respectively. This month shows that you are considering serious themes of transformation and the serious discomfort this can sometimes cause.
Don’t let that put you off, though. Just because you’re undergoing some changes and possibly experiencing the breakdown of some familiar structures and routines doesn’t mean this is gloom and doom.
It may be uncomfortable, but it will also be for the better. After the storm, a clear path will be left behind.

The Wheel of Fortune and 4 Swords (Reverse)
Scorpionit’s time to drop a little faith in the universe.
The Wheel of Fortune notes that this month is largely out of your control, and the best things in it are likely to come unexpectedly. Surrender and keep your heart and hands open, ready to receive what the Universe has to offer.
