The chilling prediction of 16th-century French prophet Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus) has again become the subject of discussion after Israel announced the introduction of martial law, reports dailystar.co.uk.
Interpreters of the medieval prophet believe that Nostradamus claimed in his book ‘Prophecies’ that the ‘great war’ would start in 2023.
Known for his cryptic and mysterious prophecies, Nostradamus has correctly predicted a number of horrific events over the past hundred years, including the rise of Adolf Hitler, the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy, and others.
But this time his words were particularly alarming, as he described a conflict that could lead to World War III.
In the publication published more than 450 years ago, Nostradamus writes about 2023:
‘Seven months after the Great War, people have died from wrongdoing. Rouen, Evreux will not fall into the king’s hands.’
Initially, the interpreters of the prophecies believed that this prediction referred to the situation in Ukraine, when Russia brutally invaded Ukrainian territory, but everything changed after the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas launched a rocket attack on Israel.
More than 5,000 rockets were fired at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv. It is striking that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a ‘war state’.
In light of these events, many interpreters have drawn attention to the aforementioned prophecy of Nostradamus. All this leads to the unpleasant thought that perhaps another of his predictions will come true. However, all is not lost as not many of the sage’s prophecies came true.
What is the difficulty in deciphering the quatrains of Michel Nostradamus? They are highly symbolic, vague and currently indecipherable. For this reason, his prophetic verses become intelligible, usually not ‘before’ the event described, but only ‘after’ its occurrence.
The question of whether Nostradamus was a real prophet or just a puppet in the hands of cosmic forces still remains unanswered.
His books, written in the 16th century, contain quatrains – extremely complex poems and quatrains in which he predicted future events. However, researchers argue whether he knew what he was writing about, or whether he merely served as a conduit for unknown forces.
