A talisman is an object that has magical powers. The word talisman comes from the Greek word ‘teleo’, which means ‘to dedicate’. Through a process of dedication, an ordinary object can be transformed into a vehicle for magnetic forces that cause changes to occur in accordance with one’s desire or will.
Talismans can influence all kinds of things: to protect someone from evil forces or misfortune, to acquire money, to invoke good luck, to find lost property, to influence people, to gain knowledge, to attract love, to enhance charisma and much more more.
Magnetism and Magic
An item to be used as a talisman is first purified so that the mixed magnetisms it has picked up on its travels are banished from it. Then, through will and directed thinking, a new charge of living energy is poured into it and this charge of energy is stored in the material.
Anyone who wears the talisman will be affected by it and attuned to its vibration; they will tend to think and act in accordance with the intent of the talisman’s creator.
This implantation of a kind of vibrating ‘message’ happens through the aura of the object. The aura – the energetic sub-plane of the physical world – is an electromagnetic field made of an ethereal substance known as Akasha or astral light. This substance is the raw material of magic and is a point of contact between spirit and matter.
Each manifested form has a certain degree of akasha, some more and some less, and this akasha is the bearer of messages from the spirit. The akasha is formed first by the emotions of the occultist; in turn it will affect the other etheric sub-planes such as light, heat and electricity.
These forces then affect dense matter, attracting sympathetic energies and repelling incompatible energies, depending on the purpose given to them through the “message” conveyed through the akasha.
The people, objects and situations that are in harmony with the talisman’s energy will be drawn to the field, while those that are incompatible with its purpose will be repelled or blocked.
Lift up your heart
To create a talisman one must be in a very heightened emotional state; heart kindled by prayerin the words of the alchemists.
To turn this common object into a sacramental object — that is: “the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace”— the one who makes the talisman must elevate his heart and mind to the highest conception he can attain mentally, and there realize for a brief moment the singular virtue for which the talisman is made.
Often for this purpose, invocations are made to certain gods, saints, or spirits who represent or embody the particular virtue that the talisman is meant to help inspire in its creator.
For example, when a magician charges a talisman, he can recite the names of saints who in their earthly days were the channels of the divine power with which he wants to animate the object.
Purposely naming them connects him to their psychomagnetic trail in the astral light; or, in Jungian terms, bringing the archetype to life in man. When successfully invoked, these angelic or exalted consciousnesses strike with a momentary flash upon the consciousness of the magician attacking the object.
The talisman will now be connected through the spirit to the divine power it is to summon, and also to the creator of the talisman.
Magic material
When the Occultist performs operations on the physical plane, he is working with the etheric body or aura — and not with dense matter. Material objects or substances are therefore selected solely on the basis of the ethereal element in their composition. Some substances are more ‘ethereal’ than others.
For example, crystals are considered the most magical physical substance, as they contain the most akasha of all inanimate objects.. Pure metals are equally potent, while alloys or any compound substance are practically useless from the occult point of view, because their ethereal double does not form a coherent whole, but consists of two kinds of vibrations.
For this reason, the ancients constructed their charms and amulets with highly refractive crystals and pure, unalloyed metals. That their confidence in these substances was not based on pure superstition is proven by the fact that modern electricians also need pure, unalloyed metals in batteries and circuits.
Similarly, crystals are an integral part of radios, computers, smartphones, watches and lasers. These substances are used for their superior and unique ability to transmit and transmit the vibrational messages of electromagnetic currents.
There are certain systems of correspondence that are also used to select the material most compatible with the nature of the force in question. For example, if our goal were to boost martial power or energy in sports, we could choose iron or steel, as this is the metal associated with Mars.
On the other hand, if we want to relieve emotional stress, we can choose copper, the metal of Venus. Water is a very powerful talismanic substance because it is very receptive, although it must be used immediately for its magical purpose, as it quickly loses its charge.
Paper, oil and clay strongly hold magnetism, while silk and glass are both bad substances. In fact, silk is often used to wrap a finished talisman to hold its charge.
The best talisman is one you make for yourself, and this is because sustained attention to it will convey your message through the akasha more effectively.
The more time you spend carefully crafting this object, deliberately selecting its substance, pondering its purpose, meditating on guardians, deities, or symbols of its meaning, the more powerful will be its effect when it eventually inducted.
Once a talisman is charged, it will be linked to whoever charged it and it is necessary to break this psychic link if the operator does not want to be linked anymore.
Each talisman is personal to the one for whom it was made and therefore cannot simply be passed on to someone else who faces similar problems. Second-hand talismans can cause a lot of trouble, because no matter how similar two people may find their situation, their diagnoses can be completely different.
When you feel you have completed a time cycle with a talisman, you can bury it, place it in running water, or burn it completely in a fire, which will demagnetize the object and complete your spiritual contract with each other. .
