1. ‘The Amityville Horror’ (1979)
In 1977 Jay Anson published his book ‘The Amityville Horror’, which was based on an alleged real life, the book continued with the inspiration of a total of 13 Amityville films, including the horror classic of 1979 ‘The Amityville Horror’. The original ghost suitcase is a mix of partly classic spooky, partial poltergegeist and partly demonic property, all included in a family house in Rhode Island.
2. ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ (2005)

‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ is based on a real-life demonic possession of Anneliese Michel that took place in her parental home in the 1970s. Anneliese was a practicing Catholic who, after having had an epileptic attack, complained about hearing voices and seeing the devil in visions. After doctors could not help her, Anneliese’s family turned to the church for help, they fought 67 exorcism sessions, one or two a week.
3. ‘The Exorcist’ (1973)

One of the most famous horror films of all time, complete with demonic property, head and projectile vomiting. The idea of a demonic property is not too far away from reality, the Catholic Church has taken possessions very seriously in the past and there have been countless real-life exorcisms. The film is set in a family house in Washington, DC and based on a novel by William Peter Blatty.

5. ‘When the lights went out’ (2012)

A British ghost story based on the story of the Pritchard family and their time in the most haunted house of the United Kingdom on East Drive, Pontefract. The film is set in the sixties and the filmmakers did an excellent job by recreating life in that period in a council home in the north of England, from clothing to props and lifestyle, this film really feels really.
6. ‘Poltergeist’ (1982)

7. ‘Sinister’ (2012)

Was the True Crime-writer Ellison Oswalt finds a box with super 8 home films in his new home that suggests that the murder he is currently investigating is the work of a serial killer whose legacy dates from the sixties.
8. ‘The Beyond’ (1981)

A young woman inherits an old hotel in Louisiana, where she, according to a series of supernatural “accidents”, teaches that the building was built over one of the entrances to hell. Lucio Fulci works at its peak, with spirits, zombies and truck loads from Gore, the film has everything you would like.
9. ‘The Haunting in Connecticut’ (2009)

Although it is not part of the conjuring series, Peter Cornwell’s film is based on one of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s things, but they do not play as characters in the film. The story of the Campbells is based on the real life of Allen and Carmen Snedeker who, just like in the film, moved to a rented house with their four children in 1986. It is claimed that the basement of the house was used as a mortuary, something that was reflected in the film.
10. ‘The Possession’ (2012)

A young girl, Emily, buys an antique Dybbuk box from a garden sale, not knowing that in this demon box the cursed items were of an evil angry spirit. Emily eventually finds the hidden lock and releases an angry spirit that owns her. Her father works with his ex-wife to find a way to end the demonic curse on their child.

New York police officer Ralph Sarchie is investigating a series of crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest, trained in the rites of exorcism, to combat the assets that terrorize their city.
