A theater built in the heart of Manchester in 1806, although a theater was on the site for much longer, but was demolished to make way for the newer more modern building. The theater was enlarged in 1847 and gave us the building that we see today.

The theater has experienced more than a good part of the tragedy. It was damaged by a German bomb during the Second World War, so that it was closed until it was rebuilt in the mid -1970s. The bomb explosion unfortunately killed several people.

The theater was again damaged in 1996, this time with an IRA bomb of 3,300 pounds, which exploded less than 50 meters from the building.

Two people have taken their own lives in the theater, throwing a balcony by themselves, the other would be a woman. Could it be her mind that is seen in the form of an unfortunate female mind in the wig room. It is claimed that she throws objects in the room and does not like lilies, which is said to wilt before their time.

The green room is also said that he is being chased by the spirit of a man in a dark suite who has seen with a glamorous blond-her-Dame. And the spirit of actor James Maxwell has been reported in the building, perhaps because he was so fond of the theater.
