1. Poltergeist

The original ‘Poltergeist’ film from 1982, written by Steven Spielberg, is still high in the list of films that will probably give you a restless night. Of course we also had to include this classic in this list, because it all revolves around the poltergeist that the freeling family terrorizes after they entered their new house.
2. The conjuring 2

The film ‘The Conjuring 2’ from 2016 is already the seventh highest profitable horror film of all time and it is based on the true story of a family who lives in a council home in Enfield in London. Their story is one of the most famous poltergeistic stories of all time.
In addition to ‘The Conjuring 2’, the story was also the subject of the final book for Ghost Hunters, “this house is being chased” by Guy Lyon Playfair, one of the original researchers in the business.

4. The entity

In 1982 Hollywood released the film ‘The Entity’ that was said to be based on real events of a poltergeest. The film tells the story of Carla Moran, who was a fictional character based on a real Californian woman. The film claimed that Carla was a hard -working, single parent who was attacked in a poltergeist ghost shop, which resulted in her flights to Texas.
5. When the lights went out

A British ghost film based on the story of the Pritchard family and their time in the most haunted house of the United Kingdom on East Drive, Pontefract. This film gets out of hand by the end, as is not true about the original story, but the way in which the poltergeist starts is very loyal to the real stories.
The film is set in the sixties and the filmmakers did an excellent job by recreating life in that period in a council home in the north of England, from clothing to props and lifestyle, this film really feels really.

7. The spooky

Robert Wise’s masterpiece from 1963 ‘The Haunting’. The movie ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ by Shirley Jackson, the film of Wise, contains a small cast in a haunted house. The film is a master class in achieving painful tension and full fright with the help of only a choice moods, a little dressing and flawless sound design. Only view it with the lights and try to tell yourself that it is not under your skin.
8. The Amityville -Horror

In 1977 Jay Anson published his book ‘The Amityville Horror’, which was based on an alleged real life, the book continued with the inspiration of a total of 13 Amityville films, including the horror classic of 1979 ‘The Amityville Horror’. The original ghost case is a mix of partly classic spooky, partial poltergeist disturbance and partly demonic possession.
9. Paranormal activity

The ‘Paranormal Activity’ series of films seems so real because of the way it is included using consumer devices such as camcorders, telephones, laptops and security cameras. In the first film, Katie and Micah suspect that their house might be chased and put a camera in the bedroom in the bedroom at night. The activity starts slowly and like that of a classic poltergeist who haunts, but as things escalate, it becomes clear that the dark power that chases them is something much sinister.
10. Poltergeist II: the other side

Things throughout the circle and ending how we started, the last film on our list of films with Poltergeist theme must be the sequel to the classic of Steven Spielberg. The second poltergeist film contains just as much poltergeistic activity, but does not fully correspond to the magic of the original.
